J -- CERTIFICATION AND REPAIR OF LANDIS & STENNIS HOODS AND SAFETY CABINETS SOL RFQ:553-12-98 DUE 041398 POC Barbara A. Lupo, 313-576-3737 Provide to the Department of Veterans Affairs, John D. Dingell Medical Center, Detroit, Michigan repair of hoods and safety cabinets. The VAMC Detroit requires that the vendor certifying and repairing fume, perchloric acid, nuclear and medicine/nuclear iotope hoods and biologic safety cabinets, be trained in the proper and safe use of the Landis and Stennis (formerly Landis & Gyr). Insight energy management and HVAC systems of controls and ahas been certified for use of this sytem, including possession of all proprietary software from the manufacturer (Lanis & Stennis) necessary for operating this system and balancing air flows. This is in addition to the firma (and each of its assigned personnel) possesing appropriate hood/biologic safety cabinet manufactuer's certification and other training necessary for proper testing, balancing and repair of the VAMC's hhods and biologic safety cabinets. All work must be performed by individuals with documented manufacturer's training for the indicated equipment, Involved manufacturers include Baker, Nuaire, Forma, Hamilton, and Labconco. Proof of training must be documented and included in the quote package. All parts used for servicing the indicated equipment will be approved by the appropriate vendor of the hood in question as suitable for use with this equipment. Because of the integrated assembly itself and quotes must be for comprehensive service for all system components, including interfaces to the VAMC's energy management system and it's controls. Quotes for service for less than all equipment items or for less than all protions of the systme will not be acceptable. Quotes will not be entertained from vendors who (1) Do not have ready access to parts from the appropriate fume hood or biologic safety cabinet hood manufacturer(s), (2) Do not have the requisite training and certification from these manufacturers, (3) Who do not have certification from an approved school or course for hazardous and biologic cabinet certification or (4) Do not have certified training and access to parts from Landis and Stennis for their Insight system of HVAC controls. Numbered note #23 applies. All qualified vendors may request a quote package in writing address to the contracting officer.
