COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 20,1998 PSA#2056AFRL PROPULSION DIRECTORATE PARTICIPATION IN NAECON 98 The Propulsion
Directorate of Air Force Research Laboratory announces that it will
provide a briefing to industry on the work of the directorate. The
directorate was formed late last year through a merger of the Aero
Propulsion and Rocket Propulsion Directorates, to provide "one-stop
shopping" for propulsion technologies of interest to the Air Force. The
briefing will be held in conjunction with the National Aerospace and
Electronics Conference (NAECON) in Dayton, Ohio. The overall program
runs 13-17 July at the Dayton Convention Center, with the directorate's
session on Wednesday, 15 July, starting at 1 pm. Interested parties are
referred to the NAECON website at http://www.naecon.org and to the
directorate's website at www.pr.wpafb.af.mil for details and
registration information. Presenters will discuss the directorate's
organization, strategic vision, investment strategy, anticipated new
program starts for FY99, and technologies the directorate wants to
commercialize. Topics include opportunities inbasic research,
exploratory and advanced development, Small Business Innovative
Research, Cooperative R&D Agreements, and the Dual-Use Applications
Programs. Key managers, scientists, and engineers will be on hand to
answer questions before and after the briefings. This will probably be
the first chance most attendees have had for an in-depth look at
forthcoming business opportunities in the fields of propulsion and
power technology. For further information on the directorate's program,
