Y -- GERMAN AIR FORCE PHASE II, SITE WORK AND AIRCRAFT PARKING APRON; PARKING SHELTERS MAINTENANCE HANGAR AND JET ENGINE-FUEL CELL WORKSHOP, HOLLOMAN AFB, NM REFERRED TO AS PACKAGE "A" SOL DACA47-98-B-0007 DUE 052898 POC Contract Specialist Arabella Candelaria (505) 342-3452 (Site Code DACA47) Description of work: Referred to as Package "A". The project consists of demolition of buildings, construction of an aircraft apron, three new parking shelters, a new maintenance hangar and a new jet engine shop. the project includes all outside utilities. The new apron is constructed of rigid pavement. New flexible pavement is located directly southeast of the new apron, extending from the existing rigid pavement located west of building 500 to the northeast end of the new apron. Relocation of the radar system, communications ductbank and electrical is required, as well as new electrical and communications ductbanks. The apron shall have a fuel trench and grating. The three paring shelters consist of six bay hangars and supporting areas. The maintenance hangar is a stand alone structure consisting of six general purpose maintenance docks with administrative offices and other supporting areas. the jet engine-fuel cell workshop consists of a stand alone structure to provide space for repair docks, storage and supporting areas. All buildings include supporting utilities and ductbanks for communications, telephone and security. Plans will be issued on or about 13 April 1998 with bid opening on or about 28 May 1998. A ninety (90) day bid acceptance period will apply to this solicitation. The construction period is 720 calendar days. The cost of plans and specification is $500.00 per set. This charge is non-refundable. Checks should be made payable to F&A Officer UFC, Albuquerque, and mailed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Contracting Division, 4101 Jefferson Plaza NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109-3435. Bidders who submitted a check for $60.00 to cover plans and specs on Invitation for Bid DACA47-97-B-0032 (GAF Aircraft Parking Apron, HAFB) which was cancelled, may receive a $60.00 credit toward the purchase of these plans and specifications if they wish. Those not interested in this project may apply their credit to any of the GAF projects scheduled to be issued in the very near future. Bidders are advised that this requirement may be delayed, cancelled or revised at any time during the solicitation, evaluation, negotiation and/or final award process based on decisions related to DOD/GAF changes in force structure, disposition of the armed forces and completion of the environmental impact statement (EIS) and Record of Decision (ROD) for the beddown of 30 additional Tornado Aircraft.
