66 -- PROCURE FLOWMETRIC LX1 SYSTEM AND RELATED COMPONENTS SOL 98C138(Q) DUE 050398 POC Dorothy Reed-Penix, Lead Purchasing Agent, (404) 842-6774 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to solicit a quotation, on a sole source basis from Luminex Inc. to acquire a FlowMetrix LX1- a compact flow analysis system consisting of a flow analyzer and controller. The analyzer integrates lasers, optics, fluidics, and advanced signal processing in a 17" x 20" footprint. The controller integrates the FlowMetrix software and communications interface to the analyzer. In addition to this requirement the FlowMetrix LX1 requires a FlowMetrix Plate Transport- a low microplate interface for the LX1 that offers walk-away operation for thousands of assays and robotic comparability. The FlowMetrix LX1 requires 2 FlowMetrix Development Microspheres, FlowMetrix Calibration Microspheres, and FlowMetrix Multiplex Microspheres. Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be utilized and a written quotation will be solicited on or about May 03, 1998. Other than full and open competition is authorized pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). Qualified vendors have 45 daysfrom the date of this synopsis to submit capability statements delineating their ability to provide these items outlined herein. Such qualifications will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a full and open competition basis.
