NON-TOXIC HYPERGOLIC MISCIBLE FUELS (NHMF) LICENSING OPPORTUNITY, POC
Martha H. Harrington, Code 4BT100D, (760) 927-1910. SUMMARY: The Naval
Air Warfare Center Weapons Division,(NAWCWPNS),China Lake, CA has
discovered a class of revolutionary non-toxic hypergolic miscible fuels
(NHMF) for use with a rocket grade hydrogen peroxide (RGHP) oxidizer.
Traditionally, conventional hypergolic bipropellants are either
extremely toxic or carcinogenic, hence the need for the NHMF/RGHP class
of propellants. These new synthesized fuels are true polar solutions,
non-toxic, economical, and, most importantly, have actual hypergolic
ignition delays in the millisecond region. It is recommended that these
candidate fuels be further considered for use in Divert ACS, Orbit
Transfer, and Large Launch Vehicle applications, as well as use in
stationary and motive heat engines which require economical, high
energy, and environmentally renewable propellants. The Naval Air
Warfare Center Weapons Division will provide a listing of related
patents upon request to interested parties. The objectives of Navy
domestic technology transfer are: (1) to disseminate technology
originally developed in support of military applications for potential
alternative uses in the public and private sectors; (2) to provide
joint cooperative development programs that address problems of
critical concern to the Navy and other agencies or organizations; and
(3) to leverage research and development opportunities of mutual
interest to the Navy and industrial organizations. In pursuit of these
objectives the Navy transfers technology to other Federal Government
agencies, state and local governments, small and large United States
businesses, nonprofit organizations and such public service
organizations as schools, hospitals and foundations. For more
information contact the Technology Transfer Office, Code 4BT100D, at
the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, (CHINA LAKE), CA

and planning purposes only and does not constitute an RFB or RFP; it
is not a commitment by the Government, and is not expected to lead to
contracts to be let by the Government. Commander, Naval Air Warfare
