Under this contract, a veterinarian who is board certified by the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine will provide on-site professional veterinary support appropriate to the needs of the EPA Laboratory Animal Care Program in the research animal facilities located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, and shall review, evaluate, and make recommendations to EPA on animal care procedures to assure quality. The contractor shall provide these on-site services nine hours per day, three days a week, forty-eight weeks a year. The days are anticipated to be Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday of every week. The contractor shall also provide approximately five emergency service calls per year within two hours of notice. EPA anticipates award of a firm fixed price contract during July 1998, with performence beginning 10/01/98. It is anticipated that the contract shall have a base period and four optionperiods of 12 months each. SIC No. 0741 applies; size standard of $5 million in annual receipts in the preceeding three years. This requirement is being conducted as a 100% small business set aside. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued on or around 4/20/98 and that proposals will be due approximately 30 days after the RFP issuance date.
