RENOVATIONS @ U.S. COAST GUARD GRAYS HARBOR, WESTPORT, WA: Furnish all
labor, materials, and equipment necessary to perform general building
renovations at Station Grays Harbor. The work includes but is not
limited to A) Removal of existing standing seam metal fascia and metal
copings on the Station/Barracks and Boathouse/Equipment Buildings; B)
Installation of new pre-finished, standing seam, metal fascia and
matching metal copings on the Station/Barracks and Boathouse/Equipment
Buildings; C) Repair of existing cracks occurring in the terrazzo
flooring and base of the Galley in the Station Building; D) Demolition
and removal of existing 2" X 6" wood stud partition and existing
furred walls in the Covered Mooring Building; E) Installation of a new
wood stud partition with new wood door in the Covered Mooring
Building. Install new door in new partition at Storage Room B; F)
Installation of new wood stud furred walls and wood ceiling
construction with batt insulation and gypsum wallboardcovering in the
Covered Mooring Building; G) Installation of new 2nd floor loft
construction with wood joists; plywood decking batt insulation and
gypsum wallboard covering in the Covered Mooring Building. Loft
construction shall also include the installation of new steel access
stairs to the loft and protective steel handrail at the stair opening;
H) Installation of a new hand-operated ton capacity steel chain hoist
with hoist rails, and new protective storage are folding steel gate in
the vessel berthing area of the Covered Mooring Building; I) Renovation
of the existing dry pipe fire suppression sprinkler system in the
Covered Mooring Building to accommodate the new loft construction; J)
Renovation/relocation of the existing electrical system in the Covered
Mooring Building to accommodate the new loft construction, to also
include new lighting installation in several rooms.. Estimated range is
$100,000 to $250,000. The performance period is 120 calendar days after
receipt of Notice to Proceed. This procurement is subject to the Small
Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to large
and small business participation. The applicable SIC is 1542. Small
Business size standard is $17.0 million. THIS IS AN UNRESTRICTED

The Department of Transportation (DOT Office of Small and Disadvantage
Business Utilization has programs to assist minority, women owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at
prime interest rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts
receivable financing. The Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to
apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $500,000 per
contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a
