Specialist, (401) 736-1785 PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: Contractor shall
provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation and supervision
necessary to Repair New York Lights in the Bronx and Long Island, NY.
Work includes the following: Montauk Jetty Light #1: Demolish and
remove a 15' steel pipe tower and a 10' x 10' x 4' reinforced concrete
foundation, reposition 50 tons of existing rip rap and add 50 tons of
new rip rap, construct a new cast -in-place reinforced concrete
foundation, and install a new 15' steel pipe tower; Montauk Jetty Light
#2: Demolish and remove a 20' steel pipe tower and two 10' x 10' x 4'
reinforced concrete foundations, reposition 50 tons of existing rip rap
and add 50 tons of new rip rap, construct a new cast-in-place
reinforced concrete foundation, and install a new 20' steel pipe tower;
Brown Point Jetty Light #1 : Demolish and remove a 10' steel monopole
tower, fabricate and install a monopole tower with a 4' x 4' platform;
Brown Point Jetty Light #2: Demolish and remove a 10' steel monopole
tower, fabricate and install a monopole tower with a 4' x 4' platform;
Hart Island Light #46: Demolish and remove a 10' steel pipe tower and
a 10' x 15' x 5' reinforced concrete foundation, reposition 50 tons of
existing rip rap and add 50 tons of new rip rap, construct a new
cast-in-place reinforced concrete foundation, and install a new 10'
steel pipe tower. MARINE EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED TO ACCOMPLISH THIS
WORK. Completion time is 90 days from receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
Estimated cost of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000.

Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and is

of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization (OSDBU) has a program to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
This is applicable to any prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT
Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and
performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an
80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are
available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime
interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line
