301-295-3845 The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences,
the Dept. of Defense medical school, located in Bethesda, MD has a
requirement for an isolation barrier system, airlock and air shower to
prevent the contamination of transgenic animal models used for
research. Award will be made on a brand-name (Bio-Bubble, Inc.) or
equal basis to the lowest technically acceptable offeror. This
acquisition will be made as a 100% Small Business Set-Aside and
commercial off-the-shelf. This announcement replaces CBD CITE:(w-068
SN176673) which was posted March 9, 1998. The system must meet or
exceed the following characterics: 1) be able to operate under a
positive or negative pressure environment, be constructed of a
flame-retardant material, 2) use High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA)
filters, 3) be capable of making 100 or greater air changes per hour,
be able to use existing lighting, 4) be easy to clean, 5) be 100%
transportable and easy to assemble and disassemble using the simpler
tools, 6) be able to fithallways with dimension of approximately 8 ft.
wide by 14 ft. high, 7) air duct must be installed so it is flush with
existing ceiling, 8) duct must attach to ceiling via Velcro to
facilitate moving from one location to another, 9) each airlock in the
system must weigh less than 100 pounds for ease of handling and
