Nasa's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is seeking an industry partner(s) to develop design concepts for one or two instruments for the Atmospheric Pollution, Aerosol, and Chemistry Satellite (APACS) and support the development of a proposal to respond to the NASA Announcement of Opportunity (AO) for the Earth Science System Pathfinder(ESSP) Program. It is expected that primary selection of the APACS mission under the AO and the availabilty of funds would result in an instrument contract for the selected partner(s). GSFC's plans to select a partner(s) using the following steps: 1) issue Partnership Opportunity Document, which includes a mission overview of APACS, instrument specifications, and instructions about how to respond to this partnership opportunity; 2) schedule oral presentations; 3) receive presentation packages from interested Partnership Opportunity Document respondents; 4) conduct oralpresentations, April 10-17, 1998; 5) evaluate oral and written presentations; and 6) select and notify industry partner(s) prior to the ESSP pre-proposal conference on April 28, 1998. GSFC intends to release this Partnership Opportunity Document via the internet, on March 20, 1998. All Partnership Opportunity Document respondents who intend to make an oral presentation must provide written or electronic notice by no later than 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, March 25, 1998.
