mfstanphill@tva.gov. The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is
investigating capacity increases on its largest coal-fired units
through improved efficiency HP turbine upgrades. The project will
consist of evaluation of the impact of the proposed upgrades on unit
operation, reliability, and performance by use of SYNTHA II computer
models of the turbine cycle and steam generator. In order to be
considered, offerors must have their own copy of SYNTHA II software;
must have demonstrated extensive experience in modeling and using
SYNTHA II; must have demonstrated experience modeling extracting boiler
feed pump turbines; and must have demonstrated the capacity to develop
and run models with no assistance from TVA. The work is expected to
commence in May 1998. Issue date for solicitation will be on or about
