X -- SERVICES TO FURNISH CASE MANAGE AND REPRESENTATIVE PAYEE SERVICES FOR HCMI PATIENTS FROM THE COMPREHENSIVE HOMELESS CENTER SOL RFP 600-032-98 DUE 052098 POC Ella Rea Watters Negotiations are being conducted with Sr. Joseph's Center, 204 Hampton Dr., Venice, CA 90291 to furnish representative payee services to approx. 120 patients undergoing treatment in the Dual Diagnosis Treatment Program at VAMC West Los Angeles. Payee duties: Receive patients disability income and make the final decision about disposition of funds; Identify patients in whom disability income facilitates drug use that worsens the patient's illness; Ensure that disability funds are used to provide decent food, clothing and shelter, and that they are not used to purchase drugs that worsen symptoms; Develop a budget for each patient and monitor the patient's income and expenses; Teach the patient basic money management skills. Anticipate Solicitation issue date on or about April 6, 1998 with a response date or or about May 6, 1998. Negotiations will be conducted for Base year with two one-year options. See Note 22. (0079)
