13 -- INJECTION MOLD FOR A FIVE INCREMENT EXTRACTION SLEEVE. The Government intends to award a sole source contact to Fiber Concepts, Conshohocken, PA for the designing and fabricating of a one-cavity injection mold suitable for molding of a five (5) increment extraction sleeve for use with the Modular Artillery Charge System (MACS), PA103E2 container for the 155MM XM232 increment, described by ordnance drawing number 12960856. Injection mold shall be fabricated out of toot steel. The contractor shall develop a process for injection molding the extraction sleeve using the Eastman Tenite high density polyethylene H5001-A polymer. A quantity of one preform injection mold, one thousand two hundred and sixty two (1,262) extraction sleeves and four (4) fiber guage preforms shall be procured utilizing braiding and filament winding process will be procured. The MACS and its components are on The Militarily Critical Technologies List (MCTL), as a critical element in section 2.5 for "Gun and Artillery Systems". Therefore, the MACS Technical Data Package (TDP) is restricted by the Arms Export Control Act (Title 22, U.S.C Sec 2751) and is subject to DoD Directives 5230.24 and 5230.25. The technical data is marked with limited distribution statement F which states: "Further dissemination only as directed by Commander US Army or higher authority". MACS is a direct replacement for the 155MM Propellant Charge M203A1 and all current bag-type 155MM Propellant Charges which are on the Industrial Preparedness Planning List.
