Amendment 0001 is issued to the above combined synopsis/solicitation for the procurement and installation of a video and audio system for conference facilities at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Gaithersburg, Maryland. This amendment is issued in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only amendment of the above solicitation. A written amendment will not be issued. This amendment 1) schedules a site visit and 2) extends the date for receipt of quotes. The Government is planning a pre-proposal conference and site visit during which potential vendors may obtain a better understanding of the work required. Offerors are strongly urged to visit the site during the conference to fully inform themselves about the location and conditions under which the work is to be performed. Offerors are encouraged to submit all questions in writing at least (2) two days prior to the conference. Questions will be considered at any time prior to, or during, the conference; however, offerors will be asked to confirm verbal questions in writing. Subsequent to the conference an amendment containing an abstract of the questions and answers, and a list of attendees, will be disseminated via a second amendment in the CBD. In order to facilitate conference preparations, it is requested that Teresa A. Reefe be contacted at (301) 975-6364 and advised of the number of persons who will attend the site-visit. The Government assumes no responsibility for any expense incurred by an offeror prior to award of a purchase order. Offerors are cautioned that, notwithstanding any remarks or clarifications given at the conference, all terms and conditions of the solicitation remain unchanged unless they are changed by amendment. If the answers to conference questions, or any solicitation amendment, create ambiguities it is the responsibility of the offeror to seek clarification prior to submitting an offer. The conference will be held on March 27, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. at The National Institute of Standards and Technology, Building, 101, Room B-114, Quince Orchard Road and Interstate 270, Gaithersburg, MD 20899. The due date for quotes is hereby extended until April 13, 1998 at 3:00 p.m. (0082)
