Subject to final approval, the Bureau of the Public Debt (BPD/Public Debt) intends to acquire, on a sole source basis through Learning Tree International, two training courses: Course 468 "Internet and Web Security: Attacks and Countermeasures" and Course 488 "Deploying Internet and Intranet Firewalls." Both courses are thirty-two (32) hours in length. These courses will provide personnel with the fundatmental technical skills required for implementing security measures and maintining adequate security for Public Debt's IT resourses. Preferred dates: Course 468: May 18 -- 22, 1998; Course 488: May 26 -- 29, 1998. The training facilities are located in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Course 468: Hintgen Building, Second and Avery Streets, Parkersburg, WV; Course 488: Park Center Building, 110 Park Center, Parkersburg, West Virginia. No solicitation document is available. A request for documentation will not be considered an affirmative response. If no affirmation written response is received, within 5days after publication of this notice, to the effect that comparable services are available, and that it is more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these services through sole-source contract, a sole-source award will be made.
