Code DACW57) The Portland District, Corps of Engineers proposes to
perform dredging at Gold Beach, Oregon. Approximately 30,000 cubic
yards of material is to be removed. Bidders may complete the work using
pipeline or clamshell (bucket) dredging. Due to the in-water work
period, the contractor will have 40 days to complete the work once the
contract is awarded. The dredging must be performed during late May
and be completed no later than the end of June. This procurement is
100% set aside for emerging small businesses under the Small Business
Competitive Demonstration Program. The size standard for SIC code 1629
(dredging), which is a concern, including affiliates, having average
annual sales or receipts of the preceding three years not in excess of
$13.5 million. An emerging small business is one whose size is no
greater than 50% of the numerical size standard applicable to the SIC
code ($6.75 million). As a small business, the awarded contractor must
perform 40% of the volume dredged with their own equipment. Cost of
plans and specifications is $17.00. Invitation For Bid package will be
available on or about April 9, 1998 with a tentative bid opening on
May 11, 1998. Estimated cost range is between $100,000 and $500,000.
