10 -- JOINT DIRECT ATTACK MUNITION (JDAM) PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (PIP) POC Contact Audrea Majors at (850) 882-3525, Ext 3124 for contracting information or Jim Galloway at (850) 882-3525, Ext 3093 for technical information The Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) Program Office, ASC OL/YU, intends to issue a modification to the JDAM contract, F08626-94-C-0003, for McDonnel Douglas Corporation, a Wholly-Owned subsidiary of the Boeing Company, to provide technical support in the program office's effort to implement an affordable precision guidance capability into the JDAM weapon system. This technical support will consist of the following effort: (1) Evaluating the warfighters' precision JDAM requirements as expressed in the Joint Operational Requirements for JDAM; (2) Reviewing current precision guidance technologies for potential JDAM application; and (3) Defining the weapon system interface requirements concerning the integration of precision capability onto the JDAM weapon system and related JDAM-aircraft. McDonnell Douglas Corporation is the only company that has the detailed knowledge necessary to provide the needed support. No government owned technical data package exists to allow any other companies to become knowledgeable about the JDAM design. See Numbered Note 22.
