a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for COMMERCIAL ITEMS prepared in
accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in
this notice. The US Army CECOM intends to make this procurement on a
non-competitive, negotiated firm fixed price basis with Motorola, Inc.
However, all responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be
considered by the agency. This announcement constitutes the only
solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation
will not be issued. The U.S. Army Communications Electronics Command
(CECOM) has established a Business Opportunities Page (BOP) website to
allow electronic transmittal of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and
Invitation for Bids (IFBs) from CECOM to Industry. All parties
interested in doing business with CECOM are invited to access, operate,
send and receive information from the Business Opportunity Page at
(http://acbop.monmouth.army.mil). Upon accessing this webpage, click on
CECOM Business Opportunities. You may access potential CECOM Business
Opportunities by simply typing "guest" for the login ID and password.
Registration for a user ID and password will only be necessary when you
are considering the submission of proposals CECOM through the BOP. For
CD-ROM drawings or other data, contact the identified Contracting
Officer via their e-mail. Offers and Bids shall be submitted in hard
copy at the time and place specified in the solicitation. No bids shall
be submitted directly to the Contracting Officer. The CECOM Acquisition
Center's EBB is closed! The Statement of Work (SOW) and salient
characteristics associated with this solicitation can be obtained by
accessing the CECOM Business Opportunity Page.This solicitation
document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect
through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 90-45. This Request for
Quotes, simplified acquisition, is in accordance with the FAR 13.601
test program for commercial items and is not set aside for any special
category or business. The Small Business Size Standard is 750
employees for the Standard Industrial Code (SIC) of 3663. The US Army
CECOM intends to procure the following item: Radio Set, AN/PRC-112,
NSN: 5820-01-279-5450 IAW FAR 6.302-1(b)(1) at a quantity of 233 each.
WARRANTY: Standard Commercial Warranty is required. Provide copy of
warranty with proposal to include information regarding length of
warranty, effective date, specific terms and conditions and warranty
service provider with company name and contact numbers (telephone, fax,
etc.) MARKING: in lieu of manufacturers commercial product marking, the
subassemblies shall be marked IAW the SOW. PACKAGING INSTRUCTIONS: Each
product shall be packaged in accordance with the best commercial
packaging. Level of Preservation and Packing shall be A/C. Bar Code
Markings and readability shall comply with ASTM D 3951-95 (paragraph
5.1.6.3) and MilSTD 1189A/129K. SHIP TO: Kelly AFB TX 78241-5000. DATE
OF DELIVERY: On or about August 30, 1998. Delivery shall be FOB
Origin, final acceptance shall be at origin. PROPOSALS shall be
submitted in WRITING (via US Mail, or courier service) to the attention
of the Contract Specialist, with reference made to solicitation number
DAAB07-98-R-B011, and must be received not later than April 17, 1998,
3:30pm EST. Standard commercial format may be used with sufficient
technical documentation describing how the product meets this
solicitation's requirements. PROVISIONS AND CLAUSES applicable to this
