G -- MEDIA SPOTS FOR BREAST CANCER SCREENING POC Renee Wallace, Contract Specialist, (410) 786-5128 The Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) intends to award on a sole source basis under Simplified Acquisition Procedures a government purchase order to WJLA-TV, Channel 7, Washington, D.C. The contractor will create a 30-second campaign spot incorporating the HCFA message on the importance of mammography screening and information on the Medicare coverage issues for this screening. The ability to meet specific target markets is essential, since it has already been identified as a major agency strategy under the Balanced Budget Act (BBA) to increase the number of mammograms among the largest at-risk groups. The contractor has the leading market share for African American and Hispanic women over age to in the Washington area. These are the agency's prime target groups and the contractor must have an ability to reach these target markets. Research shows that this contractor has the highest viewership in this category in the Washington television market. The 30-second campaign spot is to be aired 104times on the following schedule: Good Morning America, Monday thru Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.; News 7 Morning, Monday thru Friday, 6:00 to 9:00 a.m.; Morning Rotation, Monday thru Friday, 9:00 a.m. thru 12:30 p.m.; American Broadcasting Company Soap Operas, 12:30 p.m. thru 4:00 p.m.; Oprah, Monday thru Friday, 4:00 p.m. thru 5:00 p.m.; News 7 @ 5 & 6, Monday thru Sunday, 8:00 a.m. thru 10:00 a.m.; Good Morning America (Sun) Martha Stewart, Sunday, 10:00 a.m. thru 2:00 p.m. All responsible sources may submit a response which will be considered.
