This project is a two phase Request for Proposals for the design and construction of a new 4,050 SM (43,600 SF) physical fitness center adjacent to an existing gymnasium/fitness facility and an existing outdoor swimming pool. The new physical fitness center will consist of a basketball court, racquetball courts, spectator area(s), a weight room, an aerobics exercise room, an indoor running track, men's and women's lockers, saunas, showers and toilet facilities, a laundry, and administrative/service/equipment area(s). Associated site improvements include utilities, pavements, landscaping, a heated enclosure of the existing pool, and relocation of an existing lighted softball field and lighted tennis courts to off-site locations to allow development of the fitness center complex. The project will not include any work on the existing gym/fitness facility. The existing gym/fitness facility must remain continuously usable during the contract; kept in service without significant utilities and/or services interruptions. No demolition other than athletic fields/courts and utilities and pavements is part of the contract. No hazardous materials removal is anticipated. Options under consideration at this time will be re-evaluated upon completion of the RFP solicitation preparation and prior to the Request for Technical and Priced Proposals (Phase Two) being issued. Presently the options being considered, in no special order, are: (a) heated enclosure of the existing pool and a suspended ceiling therein; and (b) indoor elevated running track and associated items. . Estimated cost range of project is from $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. Network Analysis System will be required.
