70 -- MIDTIER STORAGE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE, TRAINING AND MAINTENANCE SOL DCA200-98-R-0037 POC Contract Specialist-Merry Bayer 618-229-9708/fax9592 70-Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO), Scott AFB, IL, will procure a commercial off the shelf software package that is capable of automated back-up; archive; restore and storage management and performs on a wide variety of mid-tier platforms/hardware as well as functions with various storage devices and operating systems. This software package must include license; documentation; training and toll-free telephone technical support. DITCO intends to issue a firm fixed priced Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity type contract with a base period and four option years. The initial Delivery Order will be for Defense MegaCeneter (DMC) Ogden, Hill AFB, UT. Other potential sites are CONUS DISA managed facilities including all 15 DMCs. Requested delivery date for DMC Ogden is on or about 19 APR 98. The Standard Classification (SIC) Code for the procurement is 7372. The anticipated RFP release date is on or about 30 MAR 98 with proposals expected to be due on or about 6 APR 98. Proposals submitted in response to this RFP must be received in hard copy in accordance with the RFP. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered. THE ACTUAL SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED ELECTRONICALLY; THEREFORE, THERE IS NO NEED TO RESPOND, IN WRITING, TO THIS CBD NOTICE. Interested parties will be able to download the RFP, amendments, related correspondence, etc. by two methods. Vendors can access the DITCO Home Page under Contracting Opportunities at http://www.ditco.disa.mil or by dialing into the electronic Information Technology Acqisition Bulletin Board System (ITABBS) at telephone number 618-229-9200. Information will be either in ASCII or Microsoft Office 97 format. RFPs on ITABBS are usually a compressed (PKZIP) MS Word file requiring you to have compatible software to extract the file. The ITABBS can be accessed by any FIP vendor through standard hardware and software. To access ITABBS, the necessary communications parameters are 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, with modem speeds of 1.2 -- 14.4 KBPS. ITABBS requirements will remain posted until the deadline has passed for submission of vendors' proposals.
