The National Institutes of Health, NIH has a requirement for a Contractor to provide Sequencing of 16,000 3'-ends of cDNAs [Per Year] and of 5' and 3' -ends of 8,000 SAGE (Serial Analysis of Gene Expression) samples [Per Year], from samples provided in bacterial cultures arrayed in 96-well plastic dishes. Provide sequencing of 1000 kb of genomic DNA provided as large-insert bacterial artificial chromosomes (BACs) in bacterial storage cultures. Provide evidence for the validity and accuracy of sequence tracts of desired length for cDNAs and genomic DNA. Previously unknown candidate genes would be inferred for the process of conferring mortality to immortal embryonic cells and/or for the regulation of developmental pathways of, for example, heart, kidney and hematopoietic stem cells. These genes are necessary for further studies to understand age-related phenomena and possibly foster ultimate attempts to regenerate or rejuvenate aging tissues. The above description will be applicable for a one year period. However, the period of performance shall be for twelve (12) months from date of award with four (4) successive twelve (12) month option periods. The intended procurement will be classified under SIC 8731, Commercial Physical and Biological Research with a size standard of 500 employees. Contract type will be a firm fixed-price, indefinite delivery, requirements type. Deliveries SHALL be made F.O.B. Destination Within Consignee's Premises. Solicitation will be issued on or about 15 calendar days after publication with closing date 15 calendar days after issue date. (0084)
