to combined synopsis/solicitation number N00189-98-R-0048. The
following clauses are incorporated: FAR 52.211-11, LIQUIDATED
DAMAGES-SUPPLIES, SERVICES, OR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT, in the sum of
0.057971% of the contract per calendar day of delay; and FAR 52.228-5,
INSURANCE-WORK ON A GOVERNMENT INSTALLATION, in the following kinds and
minimum amounts: Workers' Compensation and Employer's Liability of at
least $100,000, and General Liability (bodily injury) of at least
$500,000 per occurrence. The Department of Labor Wage Determination for
Material Handling Laborer (21040) issued under amendment 0001 is hereby
revised: Wage Determination Number 94-2543 REV (17) Area: VA, Norfolk;
date of last revision: 09/01/1997; wage: $7.44; applicable health and
welfare: $1.16. Offerors interested in obtaining a copy of the wage
determination should fax their request and fax number to (757)
443-1424, Attn: Diane Krueger. For clarification purposes, the
following information is provided: (1) Site personnel are not
interchangeable (i.e., ashore personnel may not be assigned to the
shipboard site and vice versa); and (2) During the 9 days of ashore
training, all personnel assigned to the ashore site will be present
during the day work (i.e., if work is to be accomplished under 2
shifts, then 10 people will be present for day training/work; if work
is to be accomplished under 3 shifts, then 15 people will be present
for day training/work). The date for receipt of proposals is hereby
extended to 01 April 1998, 2:00 PM, EST. All other terms and conditions
remain unchanged. The following questions and responses are provided
for informational purposes only: Question: How many cable tanks onboard
the USNS ZEUS will be filled with cable under the performance of this
contract? Answer: One Question: Are there any bodies attached to the
cable? Answer: Yes, electronic bodies. Question: The shore site is
scheduled to begin work on 21 April 1998, 9 workdays earlier than the
shipboard site. Will both sites finish work on the same day? Answer:
Yes. Question: Do the Department of Labor wage rates apply to this
contract? Answer: Yes. The DOL wage rate was issued in amendment number
1 to the combined synopsis/solicitation. (See above for revised info)
Question: Is Universal Longshoreman and Harbor Workers' Insurance
required for this contract? Answer: No. Question: How many people are
assigned to the ashore site? The shipboard site? Answer: Five people
per shift are assigned to the ashore site and thirteen people per shift
