Z -- REPLACEMENT AND RENOVATION OF CHILLED WATER SYSTEM, CLEVELAND ARTCC, OBERLIN, OHIO SOL DTFA14-98-R-33964 DUE 041098 POC Contact Melody McGovern 847/294-7347 FAX 847/294-8310. The FAA is seeking contractors with experience in chiller replacement in an occupied space, major mechanical work, electrical, and asbestos removal. Work includes but is not limited to: 1)Asbestos abatement of pipe fittings, floor tile and mastic; 2)Replacement of two chillers with two new 250 ton open centrifugal chillers; 3)Modification of three centrifugal chillers; 4)Installation of two new chilled water pumps; 5)Modification of CTR, CTS, CWR & CWS piping for the chilled water system; 6)Replacement of existing controls for the chilled water system to tie into the facility Direct Digital Control system; 7)Upgrade of facility Building Automation System; 8)Installation of new Refrigerant Detection System and Refrigerant Evacuation System; 9)Addition of an emergency exhaust system; and 10)Miscellaneous other work as required. Performance time is 180 calendar days with an anticipated start date of approximately August 1998. The estimated dollar range is between $1M and $3M. Contractors interested should request a pre-qualification Screening Information Request (SIR). Requests will be honored via fax or letter only. No telephone requests will be accepted. Contractors will be evaluated and only those determined qualified will be sent the Request For Offer. Interested contractors should respond by April 10, 1998 via FAX No. 847/294-8310. The Request For Offer is anticipated to be available mid to late May 1998. The DOT OSDBU has programs to assist minority, woman-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short term working capital and bonding assistance for DOT relaed contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending program at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
