x 220 DESC: This is not a synopsis to advertise a solicitation that is
ready for release, but, rather a synopsis to determine whether there
are a sufficient number of responsible sources who can meet a
forthcoming competitive requirement solicited pursuant to Federal
Acquisition Regulation Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items .
Maintenance of Land Mobile Radios for the Charleston Air Force and
North Field, South Carolina. Period of Performance is for a base of 365
days plus two, twelve month option periods. Provide Maintenance and
Repair for all Land Mobile Radios equipment, install and removal of
radios, provide adequate stock of replacement parts and material
recommended by the manufacturer, insure timely turn around of equipment
in for repairs and/or maintenance, provide adequate secure storage for
all government owned assets in his possession, equipment with DES
options shall be double locked to prevent compromise of information,
provide a copy insurance and the servicing facility shall be located
within ten (10) road miles of Charleston AFB SC. Contractor shall
maintain all Base Land Mobile Radio equipment. The contractor shall not
be responsible for or obligated to provide or replace mobile antennas,
batteries, portable carry cases, or any other accessories not
associated with a basic radio. All defects or malfunctions caused by
abuse, misuse, negligence or otherwise considered beyond normal wear
and tear, will be identified to the government inspector. Repair
Priorities: Base Stations and remote controls shall have priority over
mobile and portable equipment. Upon notification of an equipment
failure, the contractor will dispatch a technician to be on site within
three (3) hours of an emergency service notification, to initiate
repairs to restore the equipment to normal operating conditions.
Contractor must have calibrated test equipment. Contractor will insure
high level of personnel technical competence. Contractor will have
under its employ and routinely provide system support personnel and
services to solve problems that local service center cannot resolve.
The contractor shall develop and establish a Preventative Maintenance
plan for all equipment. Responses are required not later than 15 April
1998. NOTE: PROPOSALS ARE NOT BEING SOLICITED AT THIS TIME FOR THE
AFOREMENTIONED REQUIREMENT AND NO CONTRACT AWARD WILL BE MADE FOR
