803-963-5155 x 220 DESC: This is not a synopsis to advertise a
solicitation that is ready for release, but, rather a synopsis to
determine whether there are a sufficient number of responsible sources
who can meet a forthcoming competitive requirement solicited pursuant
to Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial
Items . Food and Mess Attendant Services at Charleston Air Force Base,
South Carolina for the Main Dining Facility building 250, Alert
Inflight Kitchen building 166, Fire Department building 168 and 1 Det
Alert Facility building 2000. The main facility is open (24) hours a
day, seven (7) days a week four (4) meals a day, with estimated meal
count of 21,000 meals per month. Inflight Kitchen to support aircraft
box lunches three (3) meals, Fire Department two (2)meals and Alert
Kitchen four (4) meal. The contractor shall provide a full-time
contract manager on site who shall be responsible for the performance
of work. The contractor is responsible for providing transportation to
transport subsistence for two off units and return. This driver will
also transport subsistence, supplies other food service facilities. The
contractor tasks include but are not limited to the following:
Servicing and replenishing food, cleaning facilities, equipment, and
utensils, preparing vegetables and fruits prior to cooking, salads, and
beverages, bussing tables in dining areas, performing cashier services,
handling foods, supplies and equipment. Administrative documentation
concerning head-count and rations requests. Contract personnel should
have some type of computer experience in order to post and maintain all
menu boards and for working computerize cash register. The contractor
shall conduct formal training classes to instruct all employees in
customers relations, food preparation, sanitation, serving techniques,
garnishing and food presentations. The contractor shall provide major
and minor maintenance and repairs of Government -- furnished food
services equipment. The contractor personnel shall provide a cashier
for collection of cash and signature of patrons after all meals are
served. The contractor shall provide a contingency plan for additional
food services requirements, special and emergency situations: Special
Events are as follows: ROTC CADETS- approximately 120 cadets two
separate classes, AF RESERVES -- First three weekend of each month
feeding estimate of 300 and ARMY -- transient personnel average of 10
-20 a day. A jointly inventory of supplies and equipment should be
conducted at the start and end of the contract period by the contractor
and government representatives. Responses are required not later than
15 April 1998. NOTE: PROPOSALS ARE NOT BEING SOLICITED AT THIS TIME FOR
THE AFOREMENTIONED REQUIREMENT AND NO CONTRACT AWARD WILL BE MADE FOR
