Brown, Ph: (202) 267-2506 This PROCUREMENT is a 100% SMALL BUSINESS
SET-ASIDE. The U.S. Coast Guard has identified a requirement for the
fabrication and delivery of steel ocean buoys. The steel ocean buoys
shall be used as aids to navigation. The steel buoys shall conform to
the United States Coast Guard, Ocean Engineering Division,
Specification for Fabrication of Steel Ocean Buoys, Specification No.
464, Revision E, dated October 1997. The following buoy types will be
required: 9x35LWR, 9x32LR, 9X20BR/GR, 8x26LR, 8x26LWR, 8x21LR, 7x20LI,
7x17LR, 6x20LR, 5x11LNR/LCR, 3 1/2x8LNR/LCR, 1NR/CR, 2NR/CR, 3NR/CR,
3NI/CI, 5NR/CR and 5NI/CI. Replacement towers for each buoy type and a
buoy solar battery box will also be required. All drawings will be
reduced and provided on 11 inches by 17 inches paper. Full scale
digital copies are available. These digital copies will be supplied
upon request in the AutoCAD Release 13 format (.DWG). A pre-award
survey will be performed to verify capability, with lack of
satisfactory capability resulting in a finding of nonresponsible. First
article testing and approval of an 8x26LR with solar battery box,
7x20LI and 2NR will be required. The contract will be a Firm Fixed
Price Requirements type for a base year and four option years, with
delivery orders issued FOB destination. The SIC Code for this
acquisition is 3443 (500 employees). It is anticipated an IFB will be
issued around late May 1998 with sealed bids due 45 days after issuance
of the IFB. To receive a solicitation, interested small businesses must
submit a written request to the above address. Interested offerors must
reference Solicitation No. DTCG23-99-B-TCB001. Telephone requests will

prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The
