NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the maintenance and modification of NASA JSC-assigned aircraft, to include airframes, engines, appliances, and support equipment. A draft Statement of Work, to include Data Requirements, is available over the Internet. The provisions and clauses in the RFP will be those in effect through FAC 97-04. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 4581 and $5,000,000 respectively. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The anticipated release date of RFP 9-BL2-12-8-01P is on or about June 15, 1998 with an anticipated proposal due date of on or about August 17, 1998. All qualified responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed. See Internet Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet.
