L -- INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST SERVICES SOL IFB 689-79-98 DUE 051198 POC Michele Pompane, Contracting Officer, (203) 937-3079 The Department of Veterans Affairs Connecticut Healthcare System is seeking to procure industrial hygienist services for the period June 1, 1998 -- May 31, 1999 with three one-year options to renew. The services are required to support the Fire and Safety Office's efforts related to environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, hazardous chemicals and chemical sampling and analysis. The awardee shall oversee asbestos abatement performed by other VA contractors, be responsible for regulatory consulting, oversee and manage underground storage tanks, manage VA's hazardous waste packaging, storage and shipping, conduct workplace assessments, conduct workplace monitoring for air contaminants, noise, heat and electromagnetic radiation, provide consulting and professional advice to institutional organizations, coordinate required training of all VA personnel and coordinate the preparation and maintenance of a complete chemical inventory for the VA. The services require that an industrial hygienist have at least five years experience in the industrial hygiene field, have supervisory experience and have a detailed working knowledge of environmental, industrial hygiene and health physics, and regulations and practices. This is a small business set-aside in accordance with SIC Code 8711.
