R -- REAL ESTATE TIMBER APPRAISAL SERVICES SOL DACW29-98-R-0018 DUE 051998 POC Patricia Perkins, (504) 862-2876 or Charles Zammit, (504) 862-1164 The U.S. Army Engineer District, New Orleans, has a requirement for Real Estate Timber Appraisal Services of approximately 156,000 acres in support of the Atchafalaya Basin Floodway System Project. The contract area is located in Iberville, St. Martin, St. Mary, and Iberia Parishes. The Corps intends to award three (3) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity task order contracts as a result of this solicitation. Each contract will have a minimum of approximately 5,000 acres and a maximum of approximately 156,000 acres to be divided among the three contracts. Each award will be based on the best value to the Government considering price and other factors. The term of each contract will be one (1) year with options for four (4) more years. Each successful contractor will prepare, furnish, and deliver timber appraisal reports of various parcels of land within the Atchafalaya Basin Floodway System Project area. Successful contractors will be given approximately 60-90 days to complete timber cruises on tracts containing approximately 10,000-15,000 acres. A minimally qualified contractor must have experience in the valuation of bottomland hardwoods or bald cypress/tupelo gum swamp land; must have Federal or State court experience as an expert witness; and must be approved by the U.S. Attorney.
