16 -- BREAKOUT BOXES FOR THE F-14 AIRCRAFT SOL N68335-98-Q-0173 DUE 041698 POC Carl Ruzicka, Code 2130, (732)323-2741 The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, NJ intends to enter into negotiations with Northrop Grumman Corp for acquisition of 17 each breakout boxes for F-14 aircraft. These breakout boxes house connectors for the digital flight control system of the aircraft. Also, logistics data for the breakout boxes is required. First delivery of the breakout boxes is required by 15 June 1998. It is intended to issue a firm fixed price order to Northrop Grumman Corp under Basic Ordering Agreement N68335-97-G-0143 to satisfy this requirement. The Government intends to procure this equipment under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (C)(1), FAR 6.302-1. The Government has no drawings, designs or source data for the breakout boxes. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal which may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to open this requirement to competition. Responses should reference N68335-98-Q-0173. Information must be received no later than 16 April 1998. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based on the responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. (0089)
