(510) 437-3057 This synopsis is issued to Amend the Notice published on
Monday, 9 March 1998: The following changes apply to Solicitation
DTCG89-98-R-612301. Dimensions: changed from: less than three-hundred
fifty (350) feet across. to: less than three-hundred seventy (370) feet
across. Building Materials are clarified as follows: Galvanized
hardware is to be used in conjunction with all galvanized steel
structures. Stainless steel is to be used in conjunction with
electrical parts of the antenna. ANSI G90 specifications cover the
galvanization of structures (coating), ASTM A-153 and ASTM A-123
specifications have been determined to comply with solicitation
requirements. Information regarding seismic zone four (4) requirements
can be found in the Uniform Building Code for Engineering. The two (2)
sets of pre-engineering drawings for footings and construction
dimensions and criteria will be submitted no later than 30 days after
contract award. If the offeror proposes a commercial off the shelf
item, that has historically been proven in both operational and
mechanical design and function, the offeror may provide a certification
of compliance upon delivery of the antennas to the transshipment point.
Proposals are to be submitted with an original and one (1) copy.
Offeror's are required to provide written acknowledgment of this
amendment with their proposal. As a result of these changes/additions
to the Notice previously published, the date and time of receipt of
proposals is changed to Thursday, 16 April 1998, 2:00 P.M. local
