O'Neill, Contract Specialist, (202) 366-5513 The U.S. Department of Transportation, Research and Special Programs Administration (RSPA) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) under authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1), as set forth in the FAR 6.302-1, to conduct a review and workshop on the strategic partnership initiatives in the National Transportation Science and Technology Strategy. This proposed contract is the second phase of the National Science and Technology Council's Federal Transportation R&D Strategic Planning Process conducted in 1997. This phase will build upon NAS's initial review of the Transportation Science and Technology Strategy and the Federal strategic planning process for transportation R&D.
