This is a notice issued by Westinghouse Savannah River Company (WSRC), management and operating contractor for the U.S. Department Energy's Savannah River Site (SRS) near Aiken, South Carolina. The purpose of this notice is to determine public interest in the licensing of a device called the "High Temperature Inspection (HTIS)." The HTIS is capable of providing video images while being inserted into various high temperature locations with small openings such as a glass melter pour spout or furnace port. The HTIS is capable of functioning in temperatures up to 1100 degrees Celsius while providing two views, axial and radial. When the HTIS is rotated within the heated chamber, it will provide radial images covering a complete 360 degrees. This device is distinguishable from all other camera systems because it allows for the viewing for the first time of locations at extremely high temperatures with access ports as small as two inches in diameter. Interested parties will be provided with a technical briefand instructions on applying for a license to this technology. A typical license agreement will contain license fees and running royalties.
