C -- TYPE C SERVICES, CONSTRUCT VAN NUYS ARMORY SOL DAHA04-98-R-0003 DUE 043098 POC Sheri Bashaw, (805) 594-6214 Architect-Engineer Services, Type C (Construction inspection and Surveillance), for the construction project entitled Construct Van nuys Armory located at 17330 Victory Bvd., Van Nuys, California (Los Angeles County). Construction includes a new 50,300 SF stucco-type armory and development of the five acre parcel to support the facility (landscaping, parking, etc.). The period of performance is 18 months; construction will commence on/about July 1998. Type C Services include, but are not limited to, attending/chairing coordination meetings and providing minutes, reviewing material approval submittals, answering RFI's, providing clarificaiton/interpretation of specifications and drawings, asist in reviewing any change order requests and providing a technical analysis and government estimate, participate in prefinal and final inspections and prepare a construction deficiency list, verify compliance with specifications. Evaluation and selection of the firm will be based on the following selection criteriain descending order of precedence: 1) Professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of required services, 2) Specialized experience and technical competence in the type of work required, 3) Past performance on contracts with Government agencies and private industry, in terms of cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performance schedules, 4) Capacity to accomplish the work in required time, 5) location in the general geographical area of the project and knowledge of the locality of the project; provided, that application of this criterion leaves an appropriate number of qualified firms, given the nature and size of the project, 6) familiarity with all current seismic requirements for seismic area 4 in addition to extensive knowledge of structural requirement, ie, subgrade and above ground, and 7) total dollar amount of DOD/ARNG fees awarded in the past 12 months. DOD and ARNG fees must be listed separately. Type of contract is firm fixed price. This is a 100% small business set-aside . The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) for this project is 8711 and the applicable small business size standard (including affiliates) is $2.5 million average annual revenue for the previous three years.
