Remove and Reinstall Propellers, (6) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall
Steering Rudder Assemblies, (7) Clean and Test Grid Coolers, (8)
Install Potable Water Shore Tie Connection, (9) Overhaul and Test
Valves, (10) Overhaul Engine Room Ventilation Fan Motor, (11) Tank
Cleaning, Inspection, Fuel Removal and Disposal, (12) Inspect,
Overhaul, and Test Barge Boat Davit, (13) Overhaul Barge Spud Winch,
Capstan, and Headwire Winch, (14) Inspect, Overhaul and Test Allied
Crane, (15) Clean and Inspect Sewage Tank, (16) Inspect Various Deck
Fittings, (17) Preserve Tender and Barge Sea Chest, Sea Chest Strainer
Plates; and Barge Grid Cooler Hull Recesses, and inside of the Stern
tubes, (18)Preserve Barge Buoy Deck, (19) Preserve Underwater Body
(Tender and Barge), (20) Preserve Freeboard (Tender and Barge), (21)

Temporary Logistics, (24) Routine Drydocking, etc. Indefinite items
include but are not limited to the following: (1) Welding Repairs, (2)
Renew Starboard Shaft Coupling, (3) Shaft Repairs -- Tail Shafts, (4)
Inspection of Government-Furnished Shaft, (5) Fabricate Tail Shaft,
(6) Renew Shaft Sleeves, Port/Starboard Shaft, (7) Renew Shaft Strut
Barrel, (8) Perform Propeller Minor Repair and Reconditioning, (9)
Renew Rudder Lower Bearing Trunk, (12) Renew Rudder Upper Bearing
Housing and Upper Bearing Housing Support, (13) Renew Rewinding and
High Potential Test, (14) Remove and Dispose of Additional Diesel Fuel,

Logistics, etc. Vessel's homeport is East Peoria, IL. Place of
performance is restricted to the Western Rivers of the United States.
The "Western Rivers" means the navigable portions of the Mississippi
River and its tributaries above mile 0 of the Lower Mississippi River.
Navigable tributaries of the Mississippi River include only the
waterways within the areas of jurisdiction of Coast Guard Aids to
Navigation Facilities as described in Light List Volume V (COMDTINST
M16502.5), and the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway to the mouth of the
Mobile River. This includes protected portions of the Intra Coastal
Waterway connected to the "Western Rivers," but specifically excludes
unprotected or open waters such as Mobile Bay, Lake Borne, or the Gulf
of Mexico. Vessel's availability schedule is 3 AUG 1998 for 40
calendar days. Vessel is a 65 Foot "B" Class River Buoy Tender and 100
Foot Barge. All referenced documents are available for viewing at 300
East Main Street, Suite 500, Norfolk, VA. A charge of $100.00 is
required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable
to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. All businesses, large
and small, are encouraged to submit bids for the subject requirements.
Plans and specifications will be issued on or after 15 APR 98. All
responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the
United States Coast Guard. "ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and

Transportation (DOT), Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working
