Academy has a requirement to have a Stein Model FB-30 Fryer #277
reconditioned. Reconditioning to include: replacement or rework of all
bearings, shafts and wear parts; replacement of main product belts;
replacement of fryer insulation; replacement of burner nozzles; new
electronic temperature controls; all parts and labor to put the fryer
back into good mechanical operating condition; testing of fryer before
return shipping and replacing original parts that are no longer
available with current parts. It is the intention of the Government to
award a contract on a sole source basis to the fryer manufacturer,
Stein, Inc., 1622 First Street, Sandusky, OH 44871-8001 pursuant to FAR
6.302-1. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for
which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one
source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify
their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit
proposals. However, all proposals received within thirty days after
date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the
Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this
proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within
the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally
be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct
