Jones -- (704) 299-5807 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. A written solicitation will be issued. Solicitation Number 637-58-98 applies and is issued as a Request for Quotes. The SIC is 8099 and the business size is $5 million. The contractor shall provide labor and equipment necessary to provide mammography service to the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Asheville, NC in accordance with terms and conditions of the contract. The contractor shall be credited by the American College of Radiology to perform routine mammography studies and interpretation for Veterans. Appointments for screening shall be scheduled within 60 days, follow-up appointment scheduled within one (1) week and schedule future appointments one (1) year in advance. Report all abnormal results immediately to the physician by fax. An original film and reports shall be sent to the VA for thepatient files, inform physician of positive results within 24 to 48 hours. The diagnosed and screening of mammography shall be performed in a radiology facility by a certified radiological technologist according to the guidelines of the American College of Radiology (ARC) and American Cancer Society (ACS).
