34 -- ARMOR KIT CATERPILLAR D8N SOL F0863798T0520 DUE 042098 POC 2nd Lt Andre Prude, 850-283-8610, Fax 850-283-3963 The 325th Contracting Squadron, Consolidated Acquisition Flight, Tyndall AFB, Florida, requires a Armor kit for a Caterpillar D8N Bulldozer Tractor and intends to solicit and award to Caterpillar, Inc Defense and Federal Products, TC-A, Technical Center Bldg K, 14009 Old Galena Road, Mossville, IL 61552-0470. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(b)(1)(i), this firm is considered the only source suppliers of this armor kit. . The kit will fit a Standard D8N Tractor and provide protection from nearby mine blast and small arms fire. Contractor to provide on-site support at Tyndall AFB FL for installation of the armor. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received within 15 days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. Determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result ofthe notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement on future requirements. (0090)
