Department of Transportation, Research and Special Programs
Administration (RSPA) has a requirement for on site LAN and Help Desk
Support Services. This procurement is 100% set-aside for SBA Section
8(a) small business. The Contractor shall be responsible for
maintaining the RSPA LAN by providing the following services: computer
room and telecommunications closets, provide planning, engineering,
and technical assistance for the installation and upgrading of new and
existing cabling, cable plant devices, file servers, communications
servers and software, maintain comprehensive, current LAN design and
cabling diagrams, test hardware and software upgrades, write technical
instructions and provide training for RSPA LAN users, provide
technical expertise to track and resolve data communications problems,
troubleshoot and coordinate with communications service providers and
brief RSPA staff. The contractor will resolve problems with RSPA
software applications, develop and maintain LAN standard operating
procedures, maintain back up of all file servers and create and
maintain a log to document all file server problems, install hardware
and software, configure user application software and customize
applications as directed by the Contracting Officer's Technical
Representative (COTR). The contractor will be responsible for managing
the Information Resource Management User Help Desk, providing all
necessary support services and staffing, on a full time basis. Support
services will include: maintain the automated service call tracking
system, identify hardware problems and coordinate with the RSPA
hardware support contractor, provide preventative maintenance of
hardware and peripheral equipment, install software patches to solve
software bugs, and provide application software training to RSPA IRM
users. Contract Period of Performance will be for a base year with
options for up to four (4) additional years. This is a Cost Plus Award
Fee, Level-Of-Effort type contract. All requests for copies of the
