R -- EVALUATION OF CHARACTERISTICS OF MEDICARE-DERIVED PCSA'S SOL HRSA-98-BHPR-A257221 DUE 041798 POC Aileen Broider-301-443-5231 The Health Resources and Services Administration intends to negotiate on a SOLE SOURCE basis with the University of Michigan, School of Public Health, 109 Observatory, Ann Arbor, MI 48109. This procurement shall be processed in accordance with the Simplified Acquisition Procedures in Part 13 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations. The purpose of this procurement is to provide an evaluation of the socio-demographic population characteristics and physician distribution and characteristics of Medicare-derived Primary Care Service Areas (PCSAs). This procurement will use data from three sources to examine the distributions of U.S. medical graduates and international medical graduates within each PCSA according to demographic and socio-economic population characteristics. The contractor shall: merge, manipulate and analyze the data according to the above purpose; prepare a draft and final report; and participate in PCSA validation discussions. The University of Michigan, School of Public Health isdeemed the only responsible source capable of providing the required work and services. The period of performance is nine months.
