synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written
solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number 98-Q-30 is issued
as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and
incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal
Acquisition Circular 97-03. This action is a 100% small business
set-aside. The SIC code is 3669 Communications Equipment, N.E.C., and
the small business size standard is 750. The U.S. Secret Service has a
requirement for the manufacture, delivery and installation of one (1)
Hirsch Access Control system with the following accessories to be
installed on five rollup vehicular and nine pedestrian walkthru garage
doors: (a)two (2) Hirsch M8N Control; (b)one (1) Hirsch SAM1 software;
(c)fourteen (14) Hirsch DS37L scramblekeypads; (d)thirteen (13) Hirsch
MB2 mounting boxes; (e)one (1) Hirsch outdoor post mount box; (f)one
(1) Hirsch MB41 mounting post; (g)one (1) Hirsch Melm2 line module;
(h)eight (8) Fol 310-2 3/4-24VDC-NFS-US32D and (i)one (1) Fol
310-2RF-24VDC-NFS electrical strike; (j)two (2) Sec-BPS-24-2 power
supply; (k)nine (9) Det DS150i, Request-to-exit PIR; (l)one (1)
Sen-2507A floor contact; (m)nine (9) Sen-1078C door contacts; (n)one
(1) Cartell vehicle probe; (o)one (1) Hewlett Packard Vectra Desktop PC
with the following: Pentium 200 MMX, 256KB cache, 32 MB Ram; 3.5 floppy
drive; 2.1 GB hard drive; 24x Rom drive; 15" SVGA color monitor,
keyboard, mouse and installed Windows 95 operating system. The
Contractor shall deliver the complete quantity; FOB Destination, U.S.
Secret Service, 7 World Trade Center; New York, NY, 10048. Delivery
within fifteen (15) days of receipt of award. The Government intends to
award a firm fixed price contract, to the offeror whose quotation
conforming to the specification will be the most price advantageous to
the Government. All responsible small business sources may submit a
bid, proposal or quotation which will be considered by the USSS. Please
note price quotes by fax transmission will not be accepted. All
responsible offerors shall mail quotes to the U.S. Secret Service,
Procurement Division, 1310L Street, Suite 730, Washington, DC 20223,
Attn: Kathleen Wilson; no later than the 12:00 P.M. (noon) Monday April
13, 1998. All proposals should include documentation showing how their
product meets the technical requirements. Award is anticipated within
