The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Unisys Corporation, 8008 Westpark Drive, McLean, VA, 22102 for hardware maintenance for the UNISYS 2200/400 mainframe. The period of performance is for a base year and one option year. The hardware maintenance is for Government owned UNISYS 2200/400 mainframe computer system. This system is required to maintain the database for Federal communications spectrum usages. This is a critical mission and is performed by National Telecommunications and Information /Administration (NTIA). UNISYS Corporation is the only source that can provide hardware support for this systems because it is proprietary software. There is no other source that is license to sell or maintain this software. This system is almost ten years old. Requests for a copy of a solicitation package will be disregarded. No solicitation package will be issued. A Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued to UNISYS Corporation. The Contractor must be able to meet all the requirements stated herein.
