70 -- ADD SEVERAL PILOT SOFTWARE DEPLOYMENT SITES TO EXISTING CONTRACT FOR SOFTWARE DEPLOYMENT AND FINALIZATION SOL DE-RP01-98EH97154 DUE 051598 POC Patrick A. The Department of Energy intends to modify its current contract DE-AC01-97EH97154 with SSDS, Inc. of Vienna, VA for pilot deployment of the Medical Surveillance Information System (MSIS) software previously developed by SSDS for the Department. The contract requires MSIS deployment to up to four pilot sites and includes testing, revisions as necessary and finalization of the MSIS to fully operational status. This action would add several sites to the pilot deployment phase. As the majority of the MSIS software consists of source code developed by, and proprietary to, SSDS, Inc., the proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested parties may identify their capability to respond to the requirement and submit price proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 45 days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to concudct a competitive procurement. (0091)
