B -- COMPLIANCE TESTING PROGRAM FOR FMVSS NO. 223, REAR IMPACT GUARDS SOL DTNH22-98-R-01107 DUE 063098 POC Rose Watson, Contract Specialist, (202) 366-9557 The objective of this requirement is to obtain the necessary personnel, facilities, materials, equipment and services to perform the compliance testing services, inspection and reporting requirements necessary for testing of rear impact guards to verify conformance with the requirements of FMVSS No. 223, Rear Impact Guards. Reporting requirements will also be required in conjunction with the inspection and compliance testing services. Bidders must have the necessary testing facilities, materials and equipment capable of meeting the testing requirements as specified by the Solicitation and the Office of Vehicle Safety Compliance Laboratory Test Procedure for Rear Impact Guards, TP-223-00, dated October 20, l997. The Government may require a demonstration test at the Bidder's expense prior to contract award using the testing facilities, materials, personnel, and equipment that the Bidder proposed to use in the performance of the contract. Subcontracting will not be permitted under this contract. The Government intends to issue a Firm Fixed-Price, Indefinite Quantity Type Contract. A period of performance for twelve (12) months with four (4) additional twelve (12) month option periods. The Government reserves the right to make multiple awards.
