Information and comments are requested from industry on providing system support services at various US Coast Guard sites in the states of Oregon and Washington. The systems consist of Nortel and Mitel PBX's, Cabletron LAN hubs/switches, Cisco routers, digital microwave equipment, a variety of ancillary equipment, cabling including ship-to-shore ties, public address systems, uninterruptible power supplies, and telephone sets. The majority of systems are located in remote settings. Services will consist of system installation and maintenance; cable installation and maintenance; shipboard support; user training; 24-hour availability and support including after-hours emergency response; telecommunications support for search and rescue and environmental crisis/emergencies; and grounds maintenance at high, remote sites. Interested parties are invited to respond to the RFI by submitting the following information in duplicate: 1) a five- to ten-page prospectus outlining the approach to providing the desired services; 2) staffing and skill level descriptions; 3) estimated cost of the services by skill level, hours and rates; 4) identification of any problems or issues that might adversely impact the Government's costs; and 5) prior experience(s) in providing similar services. The information is due to the contracting officer by June 15, 1998. This is not a solicitation; it is for planning purposes only. The Government does not intend to award any contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for information. Due to time constraints, the Government will not provide any information beyond what is in the RFI which will be available o/a May 15, 1998.
