Please refer to the SOFATARP Web Site http://farsite.hill.af.mil/rfpso/commod/sofatarp/sofatarp.htm for program information. The Government intends to award a contract to support the Special Operations Forces Aircrew Training and Rehearsal Program. This acquisition will be a successor contract to the current SOF ATS contract (F33657-89-C-2170). The proposed acquisition is for the contractor to maintain 95% Availability on all devices, build real world visual and non-visual databases, provide academic instruction for a given level of students, develop and maintain courseware, maintain concurrent configuration between aircraft and device, support exercises in the joint synthetic battle space, upgrade to maintain supportability and keep pace with technology and provide schoolhouse administrative functions. It is anticipated that the contract will contain a one (1) year basic contract with nine (9) one year options for operation and maintenance. The current facility is located at the 19 SOS, Hurlburt AFB, FL. It houses the MC-130E Weapon System Trainer (WST), the MC-130H Mission Rehearsal Device (MRD), and the Load Master Part Task Trainer (LMPTT). Other systems to be supported at Hurlburt AFB include the Avionics Subsystem Trainers (AST), Database Generation System (DBGS), Mission Rehearsal Imagery Support System (MRISS), Training System Support Center (TSSC), Mission Rehearsal Observation Center (MROC), Training Management System (TMS), Battle Management Center (BMC), AC-130U Test Bed, and Computer Based Instruction (CBI) stations. The government is planning a meeting with industry, currently anticipated to be in 1998, to discuss the SOFATARP requirements and to get input from industry. Meetings will be limited to four (4) personnel per company. This announcement is for information only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Information about this requirement and subsequent RFP will be posted on the SOFATARP Web Site located on the Hill Air Force Base, Acquisition Support Division Home Page (http://farsite.hill.af.mil/rfpso/rfpsohom.html). All future updates, information, etc. will be posted on this Web site only and not in the CBD. It is currently planned to update the Web Site on the last Friday of each month.
