The following questions (Q) have been asked by potential offerors and answers (A) are provided. Q: On the Computer Systems Specifications -- Television, it stated "Integration with sound card/system". Does this mean that the television function needs to be integrated in the sound card? A: (i) Change the Component title to read TV Tuner Card instead of Television. (ii) No, the tv-tuner card does not have to be integrated in the sound card. TV Tuner card must interoperate with the sound card. Q: On the Computer Systems Specifications -- Sound Card, it stated "32-bit SoundBlaster Compatible". Does it mean the 32-bit wavetable? A: Yes. Q: On the Computer Systems Specifications -- Warranty, it stated "4 year, 100% parts an labor", does the government require on-site warranty or depot warranty? A: No, on-site warranty is not required. Four years of service warranty is required. Q: Please verify that the operating software for these, 140 computer systems, is Microsoft Windows NT Workstation and not Windows NT Server. A: The operating system is Windows NT 4.0 Workstation. Q: This RFQ asks for computer case size as follows: Case size must not exceed these specs: 6-3/4"W, 18-1/2"H, 16"D. Is this the correct requirement? A: These computers must fit into existing desks in 5 computer labs. Height and Depth remain as indicated. The Width is revised as follows: The Required Width is 9" or less. The Desired Width is 7-1/2" or less. Q: On these computers, do you need hot swapable drives? A: Hot swapable drives are not required. Q: On the Ethernet Card all PCI Bus are not software configurable. Please advise what to do. A: This is a required feature. There are various brands that are software configurable. Q: Can the tv tuner card and video card be on one card? A: No. Q: On the Computer Systems Specification -- Video Card -- you state 40 fr/sec. Is 30 fr/sec acceptable? A: Yes, 30 frames per second full screen is acceptable. Offerors are informed that the Government anticipates requesting Product Demonstration Models (PDM) approximately 13 April 1998 with delivery of the PDM required no later than 17 April 1998. Offerors are reminded Not to submit a PDM without a written request from the Contracting Officer. Closing date is extended to on or before 4:30 PM EST, Thursday 9 April 1998.
