706-731-7174 Furnish architect-engineer services for Project No.
509-97-146, Renovate AOV Services to OR Suites, Downtown Division, 800
Bailie Drive, Augusta, Georgia. Project involves renovation and/or
relocation of existing AOV, medical gases, electrical and other utility
services to the downtown operating suite. Combining services in a
central location will be considered in order to eliminate congestion.
Firm must be able to obtain existing data while working within the
confines required by an active functioning operating room. Firm must
demonstrate expertise in renovation and/or construction of operating
rooms and suites. Firm will be required to perform a site investigation
of existing operating rooms and/or suites and make written
recommendations; and prepare construction documents (drawings and
specifications) in acordance with approved recommendations. Firm must
have a registered electrical and a mechanical engineer on staff. Firm
must be able to provide specifications on 3 1/2" floppy disks in word
perfectversion 5.0. Firm must be able to provide original reproducible
drawings on 3 1/2" floppy disks in autocad R12. Area of consideration
is limited to 150 mile radius of Augusta, Georgia. Evaluation factors:
(1) Professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance
of required services; (2) Specialized experience and technical
competence in the type of work required; (3) Capacity to accomplish the
work in the required time; (4) Past performance on contracts with
Government agencies and private industry in terms of cost control,
quality of work and compliance with performance schedules; (5) Location
in the general geographical area of the project and knowledge of the
locality of the proect; (6) Demonstrated success in prescribing the use
of recovered materials and achieving waste reduction and energy
efficiency in the facility design; and (7) Acceptability under other
appropriate evaluation criteria. Interested firms may submit SF 254,
A/E and Related Services Questionnaire and SF 255, A/E Related Services
for Specific Projects, to the Contracting Officer (111A), VA Medical
Center, 1 Freedom Way, Augusta, Georgia 30904-6285. Estimated
construction cost range is $500,000 to $1,000,000. This procurement is
