The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is proposing to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for repair services to its Waste Fueled Boiler. These services include relining the Primary Oxidation Chamber (POC) with firebrick, replacing the refractory in the Secondary Oxidation Chamber (SOC), replacing the arch wall in the SOC, and replacing the refractory in all breeching areas at its facility located in Washington, DC. The RFP number is BEP-98-TN-0021. The contract type will be a fixed-priced type contract. The successful Contractor will be responsible for provideing all managment, supervision, labor, materials, supplies, repair parts, tools, and equipment to repair the Waster Fueled Boiler. The performance period for this service will be for ninety (90) calendar days after receipt of a Notice to Proceed. In addition the offerors shall provide the following information with their proposal: (1) a description of the procedures and materials for accomplishing the repairs, (2) evidence of the his experience and qualification and those of any subcontractors, (3) an initial schedule identifying each task and associated time duration, (4) a safety plan, and (5) length of warranty on workmanship. Offerors are required to submit written requests for a copy of the solicitation. Telephone requests will not be honored. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the Agency. This procurement is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Offers are due by 3:30 p.m. on May 12, 1998. See Note #1.
